Releases 2005 Worldwide
Microphone Survey Statistics
(October
6, 2006) PAMA, the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance,
which represents the leading innovators and premier brands in
pro audio, has released is research findings from it's "2005
Microphone Sales Survey".
The
association, which produces the only independently reviewed factory
shipment sales research program for professional microphones,
has also expanded its research efforts as part of its ongoing
development of membership benefit programs that support advocacy,
awareness and networking for pro audio manufacturers. This has
been accomplished by its launch of the industry's first "State-of-the-Industry
Global Pro Audio Equipment Sales Survey". This new program now
has compiled statistical sales survey data for speakers, mixing
consoles and amplifiers for the 2005-year and the first six months
of 2006.
PAMA
has now released its research findings from its "2005
Microphone Sales Survey," a
program that is now in its fourth year.
Report
Summary:
- Unit
sales of microphones from 2004 to 2005 increased 4.3% for the
global markets, which includes the United States, Canada, Latin
America, UK, France, Germany and Japan, up from 3.3% in the prior
year.
- Wired
microphone shipments were up 2.9% while wireless systems sales
where up 8.0%, both numbers up from the preceding year.

of having actionable sales data allows participants, PAMA members,
