(June 28, 2006) German privately held industrial group Robert Bosch GmbH [ROBG.UL] has acquired Minneapolis-based Telex Communications for $420 million in a move to strengthen its Security Systems division, Bosch said on Wednesday.

"Bosch Security Systems can clearly expand its product area Communications Systems through the acquisition of Telex Systems and complement the segment Professional Audio," the Bosch division's head, Peter Marks, said in a statement.

Telex Communications generated revenue of $308 million in 2005, according to Bosch.
