Standards
PAMA constantly monitors standards developed by other organizations and affecting the audio industry.
Published Standards:
ANSI/INFOCOMM 1M-2009, Audio Coverage Uniformity in Enclosed Listener Areas
How Does the ACU Standard Help You?
One of the fundamental goals of sound system performance for both speech reinforcement and program audio is the delivery of consistent coverage in the listening area. A well-executed audio system design is one that allows all listeners to hear the system at approximately the same sound pressure level throughout the desired frequency spectrum range, no matter where positioned in the designated listening area. The ACU standard provides a procedure to measure this spatial coverage, and criteria for use in the design and commissioning of audio systems. Purchase here.

Intellectual Property
Protecting intellectual property (IP) is critical to ensuring future success for the professional audio industry. Without adequately addressing issues like counterfeiting and piracy, companies lose incentives to promote high quality innovation. PAMA believes it is essential to support national and international efforts to adopt robust IP enforcement and protection laws. We will advocate for expanded IP enforcement and protection within the U.S. Congress, federal agencies and worldwide regulating agencies.
